Visit Peru

Peru, an independent country since 1821, was home to many significant Ancient Andean empires including the Incas. These empires were invaded by the Spanish conquistadors in 1533. Bordering the southern side of the Pacific Ocean, between Chile and Ecuador, Peru is divided by three zones, first its Andean centre, to the east its Amazon Basin jungle and to the west, its mostly arid coastline.

For most visitors this country is seen as a majestic exquisite slice of the world where ancient worship and untouched tombs exist. And without a doubt, not one of these visitors would leave this mysterious land of 28 million inhabitants without a visit to the lost (i.e. never revealed to the conquering Spaniards) Inca city of Machu Picchu - by far the most famous archaeological site in South America. Additionally most itineraries would include exploring further the Ancient Incan capital of Cuzco, and a visit to the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world.
