Visit Bolivia

Bolivia is the most isolated country in South America with the largest number of indigenous people amongst its population. It was named after independence fighter Simon Bolivar, who was instrumental in helping the country break away from Spanish rule in 1825. Its major languages are Spanish, Quechua, Aymara and Guarani, and from a geographical point of view, it offers a highland flat terrain (Altiplano), and the lowland plains of the Amazon Basin with its undeveloped rainforests which occupies at least half of the country. The Yungas form a natural, geographic partition between the Altiplano and the rainforests.

Renown Lake Titicaca is one of Bolivia's major attractions - a sacred lake in Incan mythology. Copacabana, which sits on the shores of Lake Titicaca is also well known, particularly for its festivals. Both locations are popular destinations amongst travellers.
