A very popular South American tourist destination, Brazil is well renowned for Carnaval, Rio de Janeiro, Igauzu Falls, and the statue of Christ the Redeemer, one of the tallest statues in the world at 30 metres tall.
Machu Pichu, Peru
Built by the Inca's, this is by far the most famous archaeological site in South America. Additionally most itineraries would include exploring further the Ancient Incan capital of Cuzco, and a visit to the famous Lake Titicaca, the highest lake in the world.
Chichen Itza, Mexico
The Pre-Hispanic City of Chichen-Itza is located on the Yucatan Peninsula and was home to the Maya & Toltec people. This sacred site is a day trip from Cancun and in 1988 was granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO World Heritage.
