11th INTERNATIONAL CAPOEIRA FESTIVAL

Thought to have been developed by slaves that were taken to Brazil many years ago from Africa, Capoeira is a fighting technique disguised in the acrobatic moves of a dance. Today, Capoeira is a form of exercise enjoyed by people the world over. A warm Saturday afternoon in March 2006, at Darling Harbour, Sydney, the general public was present for the 11th International Capoeira Festival, celebrating the story of Capoeira, recognising it's origins, and best of all showcasing some of the finest talent across the globe.
